Short Sale home sale in Beaufort SC were slightly higher in 2011 then they were in 2010. The number of short sale homes in Northern Beaufort County that went to closing and was sold in 2010 was 63 or about 5.25 homes per month. That number for this year through Oct. has reached 56 or about 5.6 homes per month. These figures include single family homes, mobile homes, prefabricated homes, as well as condominiums. All figures are taken from the Beaufort County Asso. of Realtors.

The median price of sold short sale homes is trending upward. In 2010 the median price was $165,000 where as through 2011 that figures has increased to $206,000.  

The average days on market has remained about the sale with just a slight decrease, 2010 being 342 days and through Oct. of this year that number has dropped to 328 days.

This trend of increasing short sales is expected to continue as banks are trying to rid them selves of non producing assets with the short sale process in lieu of foreclosure.
