This year our agents had to opportunity to attend the annual Exit Convention Gala in Nashville, Tennessee featuring industry experts, cutting edge technology, and unbelievable giveaways joined with a mixing of education, motivation and fun! The Realtor convention included vendor exhibits, break-out sessions and a series of top notch speakers including the renown mountain climber, Aron Ralston.

Aron Ralston’s astonishing story of survival is the most inspirational incident that I have ever encountered. Instead of dying in Bluejohn Canyon a Colorado, this mountain climber accomplishes one of the most daring self-rescues in mountaineering history. After being pinned by a half-ton boulder for nearly a week in a remote three-foot-wide slot canyon in southern Utah, Aron barely escaped death by severing his right forearm with a dull pocketknife. After applying a tourniquet, he hiked and rappelled for five hours through Blue John Canyon before searchers in a helicopter miraculously rescued him.

Aron Ralston chose survival by amputating his own limb, rappelling 65 feet and hiking seven miles to rescue. And in the words of Aron "Yes, it hurt... But I did not lose anything that day. I only gained from that experience a sense of what’s important to me, of what’s possible for me, of what’s extraordinary in me," he explained. "And as for that guarantee, it’s true you will have adversity, but be grateful for it. Because that adversity will show you that there is something absolutely extraordinary in each and every one of you." Aron’s amazing story of survival and positive outlook on life inspired me, Jason Jacques and my brother Clint Jacques as the owners of Exit Mountain Realty, here in Brevard, North Carolina to promote and extend a sure plan of success for the agents joined in our company’s team to overcome the adversity in our economy and stand firm in the determination of achievement.
