Lexington Irmo Lake Murray Real Estate Update 7-30-10

Lexington hosts tournament – Last season, Lexington American’s All Star team won on their home field to advance to the “O’ Zone World Series. This year, the team will make a return trip to the event, but this time as hosts. “It’s an honor to be able to host the event,” Lexington head coach Greg Bowers said. “We also know it’s tough to be the host. We didn’t play our way into the tournament, but we’ve been trying to stay sharp with scrimmages.” Lexington American earned the honor of hosting with their regular season record. The team represented South Carolina in last year’s tournament held in Texarkana. Lexington American returns five players from that team, giving them some experience leading up to the event. Tournament events will kick off Friday, July 30 at the Lexington County Sports Complex with a home run derby beginning at 2 p.m. following by the opening ceremonies at 7p.m. at Lexington High Schools’ football stadium. Games begin Saturday, July 31.

The official start to football – As the calendar rolls from July to August, it can only mean one thing: Football is officially upon us in Lexington County. The SC High School League delegated July 30 as the official start of fall practice, and some teams are just itching to get on the field.

On a side note, the weather here has been very hot ! We are looking forward to some temps that stay out of the 100 range this weekend!
