Lake Murray SC - Yacht Cove Real Estate

There's a lot going on in Yacht Cove these days. This 30+ year old condo community sits on Lake Murray just 17 miles north and west of South Carolina's capitol, Columbia. There are 398 units in this community that features a community clubhouse, tennis courts, pool and marina on Lake Murray.

The current economic mess forced Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae to change their underwriting guidelines in February of this year. Most condo Home Owners Associations were caught off-guard in relation to their Fidelity Insurance Bond coverage. Current coverage levels must now cover at least 3 months of home owners assessments. Quick thinking HOA Board members increased the Association's coverage from $25,000 to $250,000. As a result, Yacht Cove homeowners can now refinance their homes or Buyers can get FHA guaranteed loans.

Had this change not been accomplished, condo owners would not have been happy campers! Kudos to the Board members of the Yacht Cove Home Owners Association!!
