GEORGIA REALTOR RECEIVES GIVING YOUR BEST AWARD

CO-FOUNDER OF THRESHOLD TO FREEDOM

Dawn Creech, a Realtor with EXIT Complete Realty in Augusta, GA, was awarded the GIVING YOUR BEST award by WJBF TV on Tuesday, June 22nd for her outstanding and unselfish support of homeless women throughout the Augusta area. Mrs. Creech was quoted as saying "Homelessness is one of our nation's most serious social problems, and even a short period of homelessness can lead to depression, mental illness and family neglect. The numbers of homeless women are astounding, and there are increasing statistics of violence against homeless women."

Dawn Creech and Becky Donner, Broker/Owner of EXIT Complete Realty are co-founders of Threshold to Freedom, a non-profit emergency residential facility for homeless women located in downtown Augusta, servicing women from Georgia and South Carolina. Threshold offers a safe home setting, providing food, shelter, bedding, personal hygiene products, laundry facilities, camaraderie, and the support of peers.

Mrs. Donner said, "I can't think of a more deserving person to win this award than Dawn. She has given her heart and soul to Threshold in order to give back to a community she loves and to protect women who are in a situation and unable to protect themselves. Our mission is to empower these women to acquire the necessary skills to live independently. We believe that wonderful things happen when others who are filled with hope surround people. Independence depends on components such as support from people and information about skills needed to live well. We will provide that support and information."

Threshold to Freedom is supported through donations from throughout the community, receiving no federal or state funding at this time. If you are interested in donating to this worthy cause, your tax deductible donation can be made to: Threshold to Freedom, P.O. Box 913, Augusta, GA 30903
