The state Department of Insurance will hold a public hearing on March 29 regarding the sale of Liberty Life Insurance Co. of Greenville to Athene Holding Ltd., a Bermuda-based company.

The university said the addition is meant to help meet a growing demand for educators and professionals with the highest level of Spanish proficiency. The program will prepare students to teach and perform research, as well as to serve as consultants and translators in the private and public sector.

The University of South Carolina is hiring a data coordinator for its Development and Alumni Affairs, Advancement Services department. The coordinator will be responsible for data collection, data entry and logging of all gifts received by the university.
