The Sanctuary

 
The Sanctuary is a lakeside community on Lake Wylie with over 1350 acres of which only 20% will ever be developed. Upon completion there will be fewer than 200 homes built in The Sanctuary. Lots range from 2 to 13 acres and allow homeowners the ability to build multiple structures on the lots such as a guest cottage or a work studio. Many of the builders as well as the residents use green building practices when creating their custom homes.

 
The Sanctuary is situated about 20 minutes from Charlotte and Rock Hill and is conveniently located to shopping, restaurants, medical facilities and the Charlotte-Douglas Airport.
 
 
Some of the fabulous amenities that The Sanctuary has to offer is The Camp and John James Audubon Lodge which is situated on 17 acres of waterfront. There are swimming pools, tennis courts, a fitness center and boating center that offers kayaks and canoes for the residents to enjoy a day on Lake Wylie. There are over 20 miles of nature trails that run along the shoreline and interior. The Camp 's facilities have earned the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the US Green Building Council.
