Curb Appeal is one of the most important keys to getting potential buyers into your home. The outside appearance known as “Curb Appeal” is the first appearance people see when shopping for a house.
Think of it this way, when you are shopping for clothes or a car, what entices you to try that outfit on or take the car for a test drive? Attraction! That’s right. It’s a person or thing that draws, attracts, allures, or entices you, a force that draws you to the object of your attraction.
When buyers first start shopping for a house, it’s that magnetic charm that pulls them to a house to see what’s inside also. Unless of course, you operate solely on a check list of what a house has to have before you take a look at it. But I think even those buyers are somewhat swayed by the charm on the house they ultimately choose.
The curb appeal is what will catch your onlookers, and bringing them inside your house is what you want to accomplish to sell your house. Please, don’t overlook the importance of the curb appeal. Something as simple as mowing the yard the day of your open house could pull in three more buyers that hadn’t planned on going to any open house event. Pulling the weeds out of the flower bed can make a difference of the curb appeal also.
You will not be wasting your time, effort or money. As a seller you want your house to draw the potential buyers to your house, so make your yard a hot spot. No, you don’t have to go into debt to give your yard a make-over. There are many do-it-yourself projects, for little or no money at all.
Of course, if your house already has it going on, then maybe you just need to freshen things up, make a few repairs on the deck, or give your fence a fresh coat of paint.
Whatever you decide to do, remember that once you decide to put your house on the market it will not be the only one out there. It will be one of thousands of properties for sale here in East Tennessee. Investing in your Curb Appeal, big or small, could be the difference of how long it sits on the market.
