How to write the correct Bio for our site
First off you should have a short form and a long form BIO. Not all websites will allow you to post the long form as their space is limited and youstill want to convey the same message just in a condensed space.
This is the detailed method for writing your long form biography for a REALTOR within EXIT Realty system. This requires thought and may even require that you analyze your business and refer back to your business plan and goals for the next year to properly identify the items listed below. Each major bullet below is a paragraph.
I. Your Market Niche
a. Provide the reader with your niche in the real estate market
i. Condos, new construction, equestrian, golf course, lake- front, senior living, urban, renovated, REO, short sale, etc.
b. This market driven statement should address the neighborhoods (subdivisions) that you serve.
i. You can’t serve all of Middle TN. You can’t catch more fish with a bigger net – this theory doesn’t work, the fish just swim between the holes in your net. Throw a smaller net out and catch a larger percentage and then you become recognized as the market leader in your area of coverage.
ii. This differs as the geography differs across our region, but put thought into this and research your past clients, where were the homes, what type of properties, etc.
c. Use links in this paragraph back to relevant landingpages on your website that showcase your market area and your niche.
II. Describe yourQualifications
a. Think of it as interviewing for the position ofselling their home. What qualifies youto be the agent of choice for the job? Describe your experience and remember to make sure that the experience relates to your Market Niche.
b. List accreditations, awards, honors,
c. Again use links back to relevant web pages. If you have a NAR designation you can link tothe NAR page describing that designation.
III. Provide Testimonials
a. Quotes from past clients with a first name and a closing date.
b. Quotes from business associates that co-broked a dealwith you.
c. Quotes from affiliated businesses that have meaning for your business.
IV. Provide your personalization here
a. Be brief but you can explain how your life and career make you a great REALTOR, a citizen of the community, and a person worthy oftheir business.
b. Add Links where they are necessary here.
V. Your Blog Signature
a. Market area, Cities Served, Niche Market
i. Link this lineto your website home page
b. Office Name, Address and Phone Number
c. A compelling line summarizing why you are the REALTORof choice (this could be your slogan, if you have one)
d. Your Phone Number
e. Real Estate License # if required by your State
f. Each Office is Independently Owned and Operated
DON’T’S
- Links should not go to your home page except the one listed in V (a).
- DON'T Think you can sell real estate everywhere, know your market.
- DON'T Make up testimonials
- DON'T Provide your email address
Now the Short version Bio is really just all the items in V. So doing this means you will have a short version bio ready to use.
