Why the name EXIT Realty?

Consider the other options for naming a real estate company and you will quickly learn that utilizign the word EXIT was a brilliant idea. 

• It could have been named after the founder as most companies are in an egotistical fashion.  There are several brands that have grown with the name or names of founders, but really does that help build branding.  There are agetns at other firms with the same last name as a brand.  The names are often not easily spelled nor pronounced and internet searches are hindered by these misspellings.  Names are not often short enough and with multiple founders there are two names to complicate the signage and web address.  Would you receive our company more if it were named Morris Realty?  EXIT Realty feels the company is bigger than any one person and the name needs to reflect that. 
  
• What if the company were named after the technology of the day, like Electronic Realty Associates only to have a new technology enter the market and have the name seem outdated.  Imagine the name feeling as otdated as a FAX machine, most children now will never even see a FAX machine.  So a name needs to be capable of staying current.  The fact that peoploe still talk about our name is more of a testiment to the genious in EXIT.
• Consider that some companies chose patriotic naming conventions.  At EXIT we are very patriotic be it in Canada or in the United States, but the vision is to one day see this leave the North American continent and names inluding patriotic references will be out of place.  Copy cat syndrome in patriotic names is ramapnt so how to you separate and distinguish your brand from the others brands and get clients to remember the brand among American Realty or Americas Realty, or Realty of America?  You don't want an identitiy crisis with your competitors, especially on the internet.  EXIT stands alone and there are no variations to be spun off of the word EXIT.  Also EXIT is recognized around the globe.
  
• Consider the length and appearance of a Brand.  EXIT is built into a memorabel logo building name recognition and creating the relationship between the word EXIT and REAL ESTATE. 
  

When you consider and compare the name EXIT Realty to every other brand it wins at all levels.
