Melinda is a native of Anderson County. Married with one grown son and a young grandson.

She lives on an 132-acre farm with her husband, Jimmy, and grandson, Jacob. They have three horses, four dogs, one cat and more wildlife than you can count. Something exciting is always going on there!

As an advocate for grandparents rights, she holds a monthly support group for families raising grandchildren or other relative children and sits on a committee that plans a conference called GAP (Grandparents As Parents) each March in Lexington. A member of the Anderson County Chamber of Commerce, Lexington Board of Realtors, National Association of Realtors, Kentucky Association of Realtors, e-PRO, KY Tourism Commission and Certified Distressed Property Institute.
